An RT-PCR test that can be used with all major PCR systems, and which has demonstrated excellent performance.
This test is designed for accurate, qualitative detection of Monkeypox virus in samples from lesion surface swabs and/or skin lesion exudate swabs, as well as nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swabs.
- Complete kit including internal control, positive control and DNase/RNase-free water to validate RT and qPCR steps
- Target detected: F3L gene
- Detection limit = 10 copies/reaction
- Specificity = 100%; Sensitivity = 100%.
With this new test in its pipeline, APPOLON BIOTECK reinforces its position as a responsive, innovative company that understands the needs of laboratories.
Monkeypox is a viral zoonosis (virus transmitted to humans by animals) that has become the most important orthopoxvirus for public health. In recent years, the case-fatality rate of monkeypox has consistently been in the range of 3-6%. The main objectives of monkeypox surveillance and investigation in the current context are to rapidly identify cases in order to provide optimal clinical care, to isolate cases to prevent further transmission, and to identify and manage contacts.
Several cases of Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) infection have recently been reported in several European countries, with hundreds of cases reported in France. In this particular context, the French National Authority for Health (HAS) has come out in favor of reimbursement* by the Assurance Maladie of nucleic acid amplification tests to detect Monkeypox Virus infection.
